Sloan Law Firm Announces Retirement of Topeka Attorney

(January 4, 2008) -
SVernon L. Jarboe, president of the Topeka law firm of Sloan, Eisenbarth, Glassman, McEntire & Jarboe, L.L.C., has announced that James W. Sloan, a longtime partner in the firm and Topeka-area attorney, will retire January 11, 2008.

Sloan is a graduate of the Washburn University School of Law and has practiced law since 1952. He has maintained a wide-ranging practice with an emphasis in tax matters, estate planning, wills, trusts, and probate estates.

During his career, in addition to his private practice, Sloan served as an Assistant County Attorney for Shawnee County, Kansas. He is a member of the Topeka Bar Association and is a past Chairman of the T.B.A.'s Probate Committee. He is also a member of the Kansas and American Bar Associations.

An active member of the community, Sloan has maintained organizational and charitable affiliations as an Advisory Board member of the Salvation Army of Topeka and board member of the Kansas Children's Service League Foundation. He has also been a prominent booster and loyal alumnus of Washburn University, and he has been a member of the Board of the Washburn Endowment Association.

Sloan Law Firm has been a member of the legal community in Kansas for more than 75 years. The firm, originally founded in 1930, offers services in a variety of areas, including civil litigation, domestic and family law, estate planning, personal injury, real estate, corporate, tax, and business planning.
