James W. Sloan Scholarship created
(August 25, 2004) - James W. Sloan, longtime
member of Sloan Law Firm, recently continued a generous history of supporting
his alma mater, Washburn University. As a result, future students at Washburn’s
School of Law will benefit from the James W. Sloan Scholarship.
“Washburn University has been a constant part of my life since I received my
undergraduate degree in 1950,” said Sloan. “I recognize that my practice...and
this firm...is where it is today in large part because of the education I and
many of my colleagues received from Washburn School of Law.”
Sloan’s generosity did not begin, nor does it stop, with the new scholarship. He
is an active trustee of the Washburn Endowment Association, has been and
continues to be involved in several other campus organizations, and has provided
gifts for previous scholarships.
“I am proud of my association with Sloan, Eisenbarth, Glassman, McEntire &
Jarboe, L.L.C., it’s commitment to our clients, and the reputation it has
developed,” said Sloan. “But I am equally proud of my alma mater and the role it
will play in shaping the future generations of lawyers.”
