Sloan Attorney Selected for Leadership Kansas

(March 2019) – Vernon L. Jarboe, president of the law firm of Sloan, Eisenbarth, Glassman, McEntire & Jarboe, LLC is pleased to announce that Sloan Attorney Kelly Trussell has been selected for the 2019 Leadership Kansas class.

Ms. Trussell joined Sloan Law Firm in February 2016. Working primarily in the Topeka office, Kelly brings a wealth of litigation experience, including prosecuting employment and civil rights cases and representation of public interest groups in environmental litigation. She is admitted to practice in state and federal courts of Kansas as well as the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Started in 1979, Leadership Kansas is the second oldest statewide leadership program in the country. The program was established to identify a group of diverse, established leaders from across the state and develop programming that introduces the participants to the most important topics and issues in Kansas. Class members meet with recognized experts from a vast array of fields and professions to engage in educational and informational training sessions in six different Kansas communities. Discussion topics are diverse and may include: business, education, agriculture, public policy, societal health and development, economics, and government — all of which contribute to the personal and professional development of each class member.

Only 40 participants are selected statewide each year. Per the Leadership Kansas website, successful applicants are individuals with track records of success in their professions and communities, and demonstrate an increasing level of responsibility, potential for continual leadership in Kansas, and evidence of professional and personal improvement since completing their formal education. Leadership Kansas seeks diverse applicants who are open to new ideas and viewpoints, and have a desire to strengthen their state, communities, and employers.
