New Child Support Guidelines Adopted

On October 8, 2015, the Kansas Supreme Court revised the Kansas Child Support Guidelines by Administrative Order No. 284. The revised guidelines increase the child support schedules, adjust tax related components and make other modifications based on developing case law and feedback from parents, attorneys and judges.

The new guidelines will take effect on January 1, 2016, but will not apply to existing child support orders. New child support orders, including new orders modifying existing child support obligations, issued on or after January 1, 2016 will be subject to the revised guidelines.

The Kansas Supreme Court has released both a "strikeout" and clean version of the guidelines for those interested in learning more about the revisions. Also available on the Supreme Court website are a report from the advisory committee, an economist's report and the July 2015 survey results.
